6,500 people sing Clouds by Zach Sobiech (May 3, 1995 - May 20, 2013)
On December 6, 2012, KS95 debuted Clouds written by 17 year old Zach Sobiech, which was written as his farewell to his family and friends. Zach was diagnosed with osteosarcoma at the age of 14 and shortly thereafter started writing music and formed a band with his friends. In May of 2012 he was told he maybe had a little more than a year to live, so he began composing Clouds. Touched by his story, KS95 helped him professionally record his song (which can be found on iTunes and Amazon—money from the purchase of the song goes to fund cancer research), which then went viral. Yesterday, KS95 organized as many people as possible to sing Clouds to honor the memory of Zach.
During the video, the couple the camera focuses on (and who can be seen hugging at the end), is Zach’s parents. His longtime girlfriend and siblings also all were in attendance.
